About
I'm Ole Reissmann, a journalist who builds stuff. As the first Director of AI at SPIEGEL Group, I'm working on strategy, transformation, upskilling, and product development.

In various roles at SPIEGEL, I have launched podcasts, apps, and newsletters, built and managed a newsroom, led teams, and developed platform strategies.
I was in the inaugural cohort of CUNY's AI Journalism Lab. As a Burns Fellow in the United States, I visited The Oregonian.

Teaching
I teach product thinking for journalists and executives at Hamburg Media School and the Institute for Arts and Media Management at Hamburg's HfMT.
I've taught classes at Henri Nannen Journalism School, University of Hamburg, University of Bremen, and have lectured at Macromedia Hochschule Hamburg and Cologne, University of Lüneburg, Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst Basel, Journalism School of Lille, and others.
Podcasts
I launched storytelling podcasts at SPIEGEL and developed news briefings, weekly shows, and audio products.

Team effort all the way.
Speaking
I love talking about the future of media, on stages both large and small. I've had the opportunity to speak or moderate at South by Southwest, re:publica, the World Association of Newspapers, Medientage München, Netzwerk Recherche, European Publishing Congress, ADC Digital, BDZV, Leipzig Book Fair, Kunstmuseum Bonn, and many more.
Reporting
When I was tech reporter, I wrote about the Snowden leaks, hackers, activists, artists, and digital politics. My work has been cited in legal cases, the German Bundestag, and Wikipedia.
I've written a book on Anonymous. From what we know, it was used to train AI without permission or compensation. Which, on one hand, that sucks, but on the other hand: it's now part of the world's knowledge.
